Position Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to advance their career in a clinical and leadership role in mental health and join our friendly and supportive team of multidisciplinary professionals at Mercy Mental Health Residential Services committed to providing high quality, evidence based, safe and effective person-centred care.

  • Senior Occupational Therapist Role, Grade 3
  • Fixed Term Part Time 0.6 FTE
  • Based in Werribee & Deer Park at Mercy Mental Health Prevention And Recovery Care (PARC) & Community Care Unit (CCU) facilities
  • Co-ordinate client recovery programs, NDIS support, Occupational Therapy specific assessments and support to the multidisciplinary team at both sites.
  • Direct operational management of the Occupational Therapist Grade 2 and an Occupational Therapist Graduate based at the CCU.
  • Friendly and supportive team environment with strong emphasis on learning and leadership development.

 ABOUT YOU:

  • An approved degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA as an occupational therapist.
  • Current membership or eligibility for membership with Occupational Therapy Australia (VIC).
  • Excellent knowledge, skills and understanding of evidence-based Occupational Therapy specific assessments and interventions in mental health clinical practice.
  • Relevant experience working in mental health with strong clinical and operational leadership capabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and practices with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, team-orientated and passionate to work in mental health.

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
