Position Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This key leadership role will involve working collaboratively with the operational Program Director to provide contemporary, high quality and accessible Medical, Sub Acute and Palliative Care Services across Mercy Health – Health Services.

  • Full-time position, incorporating 50% clinical and 50% non-clinical duties
  • Key leadership role within Mercy Health Services
  • Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital with oversight of Medical, Sub Acute and Palliative Care Services across Mercy Health
  • Provide strong medical leadership to ensure high quality clinical practices and patient-centred care
  • Lead the strategic growth and development of Medical, Sub Acute and Palliative Care Services across Mercy Health
  • Manage operational and human resources within the program in collaboration with the Program Director and the Chief Operating Officer – Health Services

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • MBBS and Fellow of a Specialist College
  • Registration with AHPRA as a specialist medical practitioner
  • Highly developed communication skills, and a proven ability to engage, collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders
  • An adaptive and strategic leader with highly developed problem-solving skills and clinical acumen
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary issues relating to medical, subacute and palliative care programs
  • Previous experience in management of a clinical department, division or program (desirable)

Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd incorporates:

  • Mercy Hospital for Women, a major public hospital and specialist referral centre for obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological needs.
  • Werribee Mercy Hospital, a general hospital providing comprehensive care to the rapidly growing western suburbs of Melbourne. This hospital is currently undergoing significant expansion with a number of exciting capital projects already underway and in planning.
  • Mercy Mental Health provides adult mental health services across the south west Melbourne area
  • Mercy Palliative Care, a community-based palliative care service offering support in the North and West Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.
  • O'Connell Family Centre, one of three early parenting centres in Victoria 
  • Mercy Health Albury, a major provider of subacute (general) health services in the Albury–Wodonga and surrounding areas
  • Mercy Care Centre Young, a 26-bed health service providing a range of outpatient, community health and aged care services for the people of Young and surrounding regions
