ABOUT THE ROLE:
Provide admitting, consultative & diagnostic services for our patients within the Palliative Care inpatient & community service for Mercy Health Albury

Albury / Wodonga is nestled on the banks of the Murray River and Hume Weir. The region offers water sports, snow fields, wineries, national parks and access to tourist towns such as Beechworth, Bright, Rutherglen and Yackandandah. Albury / Wodonga is a cultural hub for restaurants, markets, art and theatre, and boasts a large regional shopping precinct. With numerous sporting clubs and plenty of schooling, options both public and private, the city has so much to offer.

Our specialist Palliative Care service consists of a 10 bed inpatient department, and an extensive community service, providing specialist holistic care to NSW residents. Working as a member of the multi disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the clinical care of our palliative patients.

Mercy Health Albury, Palliative Care Service
Fixed term position commencing 3 April 2023 to 4 December 2023
Working 80hrs per fortnight
Perform all assessments, procedures and treatments associated with the speciality of Palliative Care Medicine as per delineated role of the Mercy Health Albury network
Provide admitting, consultative and diagnostic services for inpatient and community palliative care services
Form an integral part of a multidisciplinary team whilst practising within the core values of Mercy Health
Ensure a highly responsive and flexible Palliative Care service to internal and external health care providers.

ABOUT YOU:
Hold unconditional registration with AHPRA
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Palliative Care) and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award
Fellowship of General Practitioners with substantial experience in palliative care
Australian citizen or PR status
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with the contemporary evidence based best practice and demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
Current Medical Indemnity Insurance

Mercy Health Albury is a publicly funded 30-bed a subacute hospital in southern New South Wales offering a range of services including aged care assessment, day therapy programs, allied health, transitional aged care, geriatric evaluation management and palliative care.
