Position Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking enthusiastic geriatricians to develop our services in the acute general wards, GEM and Gem@Home.

We have an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which includes expanding our clinical service profile within the Werribee community

The hospital has a broad case mix represented by a culturally diverse and growing community.

  • Part Time or Full time roles available depending on applicant
  • Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital which is based in the highest growth area in Melbourne

  • Friendly, dynamic, professional team who are dedicated to providing care to the community
  • Participation in a rotational on call and weekend roster is expected

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • General and specialist registration – APHRA
  • Qualified medical practitioner- MBBS or equivalent
  • Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine
  • Experience in General Medicine desirable
  • Driver’s Licence and ability to travel
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298. WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
