  • Provide leadership and management of medical staff and services across Mercy Hospital for Women, a specialist referral centre for obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological needs

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Director of Medical Services is a key new role established at Mercy Hospital for Women to provide medical leadership and management across the campus and contribute a unique perspective to the executive team. This role will work closely with the General Manager to achieve strategic and operational aims, while overseeing workforce and financial management. The Director of Medical Services will support the provision of optimal patient care by advocating for high quality clinical practices, developing effective services and maintaining a proficient workforce.

  • Permanent full time role at 1.0 FTE
  • Provide expert professional and clinical leadership in the strategic and operational management of medical services and medical workforce at Mercy Hospital for Women
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Mercy Hospital for Women to facilitate the provision of high quality, patient centred care across the campus
  • Manage the operational, finance, workforce and information management across the campus in conjunction with the General Manager and executive team
  • Be part of a motivated executive team committed to developing procedures and services to support staff and the provision of optimal patient care to our community

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Relevant qualifications in health and extensive experience in health service management
  • Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (desirable)
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner
  • Post graduate qualification (or working towards) in health services, business administration, management, or equivalent qualification
  • Extensive management experience within a large, complex healthcare or other relevant organisation at a senior level

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
