Position Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The department of Anaesthesia provides elective and emergency anaesthetic services to a number of specialty areas including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT (including Paediatrics) as well as a busy Obstetric unit. Werribee Mercy Hospital Department of Anaesthesia is an accredited site for training with ANZCA.

Summary of the role:

Clinical duties will include the provision of peri-operative anaesthetic and resuscitation care of in-patients, including anaesthesia and analgesia services to patients in the birth suite, operating theatres, wards, ICU and the emergency department. 

Actively participate in the coordination of weekly Pre-anaesthetic Outpatient Clinics and take part in the organisation and coordination of departmental non-clinical education and quality assurance activities. Provide high quality care both in and after-hours and participate fully in the activities of the department. 

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • FANZCA or equivalent
  • Current registration with AHPRA and ANZCA
  • A high standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team

Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Current Resume and Referees 
  • Certification in AHPRA and ANZCA
  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
