ABOUT THE ROLE:
Join the team in our dynamic and fast-paced Emergency Department where you will provide care for women who present with a variety of problems occurring in the early pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal periods. We also care for women with acute gynaecological problems and neonates up to 2 weeks old.
As a dual qualified Registered Nurse-Midwife, you will:
- Provide exceptional clinical service as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary hospital team.

ABOUT YOU:
- Nurse and Midwifery Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (essential)
- Over four years’ relevant experience as a Registered Midwife (essential)
- Recent knowledge of all areas of midwifery practice and experience in working in Birthing Services, Emergency, Critical care and Gynaecological experience (desirable)
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable)
- Current competency in RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Program or equivalent
- Neonatal resuscitation, Adult resuscitation and completion of all other mandatory competencies upon commencement of employment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and be able to build good working relationships to foster a collaborative approach to care

Are you a Midwife or Nurse looking to return to clinical practice? Mercy Health are a passionate and progressive organisation and would love you to join us! Mercy Health (Hospital for Women and Werribee Mercy Hospital) are excited to offer an 8 week unpaid, clinically supported refresher programs commencing in 2024.
If you are a successful applicant you will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Department of Health (DoH) to fund the completion of your program. *criteria applies.

What we can offer you: Supported education program individualised to your learning needs Exposure to a wide variety of clinical scenarios/ simulated learning Supernumerary 8 week program (4 days per week 0.8 EFT). Clinical practice portfolio Following completion a commitment to ongoing employment Future opportunities to work across a variety of clinical areas Successful applicants will be supported to work across all rostered shifts (including night duty)
*Criteria: Registered Midwife/ or Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Be an Australian Citizen, a New Zealand citizen (or dual citizenship holder of either Australia or New Zealand) , an Australian permanent resident or an Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder. Have not previously received a department scholarship to complete a nursing and midwifery refresher program Not be currently employed at Mercy Health Agree to complete the course and seek employment in the targeted clinical area of practice for which the scholarship was awarded in the Victorian public health sector Completing the refresher program by the due date and are responsible for any further study costs incurred beyond the value of the scholarship Minimum 1 year previous experience as a Midwife / Nurse within the past 5 years Flexibility to work all shifts including night duty If completing the Midwifery Refresher program there is a requirement to undertake the ACM refresher learning modules. (The price is $1300 for non-members and includes 12 months ACM membership or $900 for ACM Members.)
Please note this program is not suitable for newly qualified Midwives or Nurses or applicants who have not completed a Graduate Midwifery or Nurse Program.

We are leaders in newborn intensive and special care in Australia. Our Neonatal Services, with 61 cots, caters to over 1500 newborns annually, making us one of Victoria's largest providers. As a Registered Nurse in NICU, you will be responsible for direct patient care of newborns admitted into our service.
