ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summary of the role:
The FaPMI (Families where a Parent experiences Mental Illness) program aims to improve outcomes for consumers who are parents, their children and families by reducing any impact parental mental illness may have on all family members through timely, coordinated, preventative and supportive action within Adult and Older Adult Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services (AMHWS).
The CYP (child and young persons) role has been created in response to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System 2021, and is an expansion of the Victorian state wide FaPMI program, by enabling each AMHWS to employ new workers to support young carers in their local environment and increasing funding available to these young carers/supporters to help with practical needs.
The position sits within the FaPMI program at Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, and will contribute to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery. The FaPMI CYP worker will support the aims and delivery of the local FaPMI program with FaPMI coordinators. The FaPMI CYP worker will focus on supporting children and young people up to 25 years old, including young carers.
WHAT WILL CYP worker DO? The FaPMI CYP worker will contribute to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery, work closely with Case Managers and FaPMI Coordinators. Partner with relevant service providers in the delivery of peer support groups to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have a parent experiencing mental illness/mental health challenges.
CYP worker will engage directly with children and young people in caring and support roles, assist in strengthening formal and informal support networks within their family context, where gaps identified. Provide practical support, information and opportunities for connection with peers in similar circumstances, including referrals and/ involvement with appropriate peer support programs.
This position is based at Saltwater Community Mental Health Clinic, Footscray, and will work across Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Services located in Wyndham & Hobsons Bay.
Hours of work during business hours, 4 days per week. Flexible work option available for successful candidate.
ABOUT YOU:
• Education : Cert IV in Community Development or equivalent
• A current unrestricted Victorian Driver’s License and ability to drive a work vehicle
• Satisfactory National Police Record Check
• Current Victorian Working with Children Check
Desirable:
• Ability to speak a second language relevant to the local community
• At least 6 months relevant employment within a similar role within the last 18 months

The is an exciting time to join the Perioperative Services at WMH, in a newly restructured management model for both the operating and sterilizing departments. This key position will support surgery recovery & reform and infection control & prevention initiatives , working collaboratively to deliver a quality service in line with industry standards.
Relocating to Level 2 of the Catherine McAuley Building in August 2018, the CSSD is a bright and modern department. WHS initiatives, such as auto loading and unloading of the washer/ disinfectors & sterilisers, height adjustable sinks & work benches, a chemical management dispensing system and pull thru WD, Sterilisers and Endoscopy AERs, are a few features which enhance work flows and efficiencies.
In October 2023, the department transitioned to a fully electronic tracking system which includes endoscopy services for the first time. Included in this transition, the department purchased an instrument laser marking system, to ensure the service is able to respond to new services within the hospital and community.
The CSSD NUM will provide leadership and management of instrument and endoscopy technicians across all reprocessing services located within level 2 and the ground floor Endoscopy Hub. In addition, the NUM will work collaboratively with the Perioperative Endoscopy service located on level 3.
The NUM will play a pivatol role in the delivery of services and work within the standards & guidelines of NSQHS, AS5369:2023 & GENCA.
Providing leadership and management, The NUM will be responsible for all resources pertaining to people, equipment and process relating to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
The CSSD NUM will foster a collaborative approach to sterilizing services and will maintain a safe working environment conducive with the Mercy Mission & Values.
- Based in Level 2, CSSD, The NUM will also oversee reprocessing services in the GF Endoscopy Hub.

- This position will provide clinical expertise in reprocessing & sterilization services.
- This position will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary across Health Services and National Standards initiatives, ensuring delivery of quality care & service.

About the Role:
Our Neonatal Services operates two FTE of Nurse Unit Managers (NUM) roles who lead and drive the daily operations and staff management across NICU and SCN.
- As NUM you will have responsibility for the clinical and operational outcomes and management of staff within Neonatal Services
- A key focus of this role is to provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the unit where you will act as a role model and form an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team
- This leadership role will encompass the strategic planning of financial, capital, human and physical resources
- You will co-ordinate and manage the day to day operations to ensure high quality clinical practices and patient care in Neonatal Services
- Pivotal to this role will be developing and maintaining collaborative relationships internally with other departments, and with external stakeholders to facilitate patient care
About you:
We are looking for a strong leader who is enthusiastic, passionate and driven with exceptional people management skills and extensive experience working in Neonatal Services to take on this key role. You will have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Postgraduate qualification in Neonatal Intensive Care is essential
- Postgraduate degree (or working towards) in hospital or health services, administration, management or equivalent qualification will be highly regarded
- Prior experience in management including demonstrated experience in change management and clinical innovation
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team to maximise performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Awareness and understanding of financial and budgetary processes

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Join the team in our dynamic and fast-paced Emergency Department where you will provide care for women who present with a variety of problems occurring in the early pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal periods. We also care for women with acute gynaecological problems and neonates up to 2 weeks old.
As a dual qualified Registered Nurse-Midwife, you will:
- Provide exceptional clinical service as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary hospital team.

- Have flexible rostering options in line with the demands of the department

ABOUT YOU:
- Nurse and Midwifery Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (essential)
- Over four years’ relevant experience as a Registered Midwife (essential)
- Recent knowledge of all areas of midwifery practice and experience in working in Birthing Services, Emergency, Critical care and Gynaecological experience (desirable)
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable)
- Current competency in RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Program or equivalent
- Neonatal resuscitation, Adult resuscitation and completion of all other mandatory competencies upon commencement of employment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and be able to build good working relationships to foster a collaborative approach to care

We are leaders in newborn intensive and special care in Australia. Our Neonatal Services, with 61 cots, caters to over 1500 newborns annually, making us one of Victoria's largest providers. About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse in NICU, you will be responsible for direct patient care of newborns admitted into our service.
