You will be part of the Community Plus team which is like a hybrid of MST and HOPS teams. It's a recovery focused multi-disciplinary team who provides an extended hours clinical service to people who live within the municipalities of Wyndham, Hobson's Bay and Maribyrnong. In addition to experiencing significant mental illness/ mental health problems your clients will have other health and psycho social needs that impact their wellbeing Notably many of your clients will experience chronic homelessness. The role has a dual purpose. Firstly, to provide clinical case management to eligible clients with an emphasis on working with clients who experience homelessness. Secondly to support the housing and homelessness service sectors so they can optimally support people with significant mental health issues. You will facilitate comprehensive responses for your clients’ needs and as senior clinician you will provide support and leadership within the team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Full Time – 6 or 12 months Fixed Term commencing February or August 2025.             
• Located at Mercy Hospital for Women in the Department of Anaesthesia.
• The Fellow provides anaesthetic and resuscitation care of in-patients, including anaesthesia and analgesia services in Birth Suite and Operating Theatres and the High Dependency Unit within the rules pertaining to Registrars/Residents. They are expected to assume a responsible role in the management of complex cases, on occasion supervising management by junior staff.
• The Fellow will take part in organisation of Departmental non-clinical educational activities and should endeavour to complete the equivalent of one clinical research paper suitable for presentation at a national meeting or publication in a relevant peer-reviewed journal
• Successful application will be employed as per the terms and conditions set out in the current Victorian Public Health Sector (AMA-Victoria) Doctors in Training (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement.

• A key focus of this role is to provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the unit where you will act as a role model and form an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team

Mercy Mental health is seeking experienced medical officers with well-developed communication skills to enter Stage 1 of the RANZCP training program in February 2025. 

About the Mercy training program:

Our new RANZCP training program provides all mandatory rotations and offers registrars the opportunity to work in the most extensive perinatal service in the state.  The first year inpatient rotations are based in our new 54 bed Clare Moore Building at Werribee and are supervised by fulltime RANZCP accredited supervisors who are passionate about teaching. Accredited rotations include:

• Community Perinatal Psychiatry - Hoppers Crossing
• Community Adult - Saltwater Clinic, Footscray

The Child and Adolescent rotation is a community position located at Hoppers Crossing provided in partnership with Royal Children’s Hospital.  Mercy Registrars will take part in the RCH teaching program during their rotation.

Education, exams and supervision

First year registrars also receive additional weekly case based bedside teaching.  Written and Clinical exam preparation courses are provided, as is supervision for the psychotherapy long case.  Registrars will also have a range of opportunities to complete their scholarly project though our links with Notre Dame University and Perinatal Mental Health specialists working group.

The Neonatal Nursery at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg is a tertiary referral centre and a centre of excellence for neonatal care in Victoria. We admit over 1400 patients per annum and are committed to high quality neonatal care within the Victorian Public Health care system.

Opportunity to join our Neonatal team at Mercy Hospital for Women as a Neonatal Fellow (8 EFT). We are fully accredited for both basic and advanced training in paediatrics (both general paediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine) with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

We are expanding our paediatric emergency care service within the Emergency Department. You will be part of a large supportive, patient focused team, with ongoing educational support and opportunities. Permanent Nursing POOL positions available where shifts will be allocated on a rotating roster over 24hours to either the Paediatric Emergency department or to the Paediatric ward depending on need. Casual contracts will also be considered.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Occupational Therapy (OT) Team provides a community-based service for elderly individuals living at home and having difficulties with daily activities. We aim to assist our clients to participate in everyday activities, maximise their independence, safety and wellbeing.

 The CHSP AHA will work closely with the OT team to support the delivery of recommendations to optimise or maintain the patient’s participation and independence in functional activities and occupations. The AHA will carry out delegated 1:1 follow up, within the community and the clients home; education as well as administrative tasks associated with supporting the OT team. This support ensures effective and efficient service delivery for clients and therapists.

 The CHSP OT team consists of OT’s and AHA’s working across three teams:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role: 

The FaPMI (Families where a Parent experiences Mental Illness) program aims to improve outcomes for consumers who are parents, their children and families by reducing any impact parental mental illness may have on all family members through timely, coordinated, preventative and supportive action within Adult and Older Adult Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Services (AMHWS).

The CYP (child and young persons) role has been created in response to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System 2021, and is an expansion of the Victorian state wide FaPMI program, by enabling each AMHWS to employ new workers to support young carers in their local environment and increasing funding available to these young carers/supporters to help with practical needs.

The position sits within the FaPMI program at Mercy Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, and will contribute to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery. The FaPMI CYP worker will support the aims and delivery of the local FaPMI program with FaPMI coordinators. The FaPMI CYP worker will focus on supporting children and young people up to 25 years old, including young carers.

WHAT WILL CYP worker DO?
The FaPMI CYP worker will contribute to the provision of a whole of family approach to service delivery, work closely with Case Managers and FaPMI Coordinators. Partner with relevant service providers in the delivery of peer support groups to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have a parent experiencing mental illness/mental health challenges.

CYP worker will engage directly with children and young people in caring and support roles, assist in strengthening formal and informal support networks within their family context, where gaps identified. Provide practical support, information and opportunities for connection with peers in similar circumstances, including referrals and/ involvement with appropriate peer support programs.

This position is based at Saltwater Community Mental Health Clinic, Footscray, and will work across Mercy Mental Health & Wellbeing Services located in Wyndham & Hobsons Bay.

Hours of work during business hours, 4 days per week. Flexible work option available for successful candidate.

• Education : Cert IV in Community Development or equivalent

• A current unrestricted Victorian Driver’s License and ability to drive a work vehicle

Summary of the role: You will be part of a strong safety team that provides support, advice and guidance to staff and managers on all elements of health and safety. The team work proactively and independently to manage risk for our organisation.

• This is a full or part time ongoing position 
• The work location is flexible and can be based at Werribee Mercy Hospital or the Mercy Hospital for Women, with occasional travel to metropolitan Melbourne locations and Albury.
• The role provides our staff with key skills in manual handling safety, safe patient handling and safe equipment use.
• The role will also assist the implementation of other staff education programs and equipment safety processes.
• The role will be key in developing new ways of delivering training in manual handling moving to online and remote learning.

We are currently looking for an experienced Service Coordinator to work in our East Regional Office located in Hughesdale.

Working closely with a team of care advisors, referral agencies and service providers, our Service Coordinators are responsible for coordinating the rostering and support of a team of Home Care Workers to ensure the right employee is rostered to provide the right service, to the right client, at the right time.
